Queensland Art Teachers Association Conference.
It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to present at this year’s QATACON conference. It provided a unique opportunity to connect with arts educators dedicated to understanding the evolving landscape of technology and its impact on the future of creativity and education. Engaging with these passionate professionals, who are actively investing time to learn about the rapid advancements in creative tech, was incredibly inspiring and reaffirmed the vital role that education plays in shaping the next generation of innovators.
Katrina Iosia is a Niuean artist and leading Aotearoa New Zealand practitioner in Augmented Reality. For the 2024 Queensland Art Teachers Association Conference (QATACON), Iosia has been invited to speak about creative tech and education, and to deliver a digital workship for participating teachers.
With the theme Create the future, QATACON24 seeks to address questions including “Can a machine really be creative?” and “How will our impact on the environment generate opportunities for creativity and innovation?”. The annual event includes keynote addresses, round-table discussions, workshops and other learning opportunities for teachers based in Queensland.
