“It has been an amazing experience being invited by the team at Snap Spectacles to create my first lens for their AR-powered glasses. At the time, I was working on several personal projects that I wanted to further explore. I had been sculpting multiple compositions of objects that I could apply digital materials to. I learned that certain objects and UV unwrapping the materials adhere perfectly, while others require some adjustments. The inspiration behind the lens ‘Into the Miniverse’ is the first of a series of works I am continuing to create between projects. The tactile painting, which allows users to engage and interact with its textures, may appear deceiving at first glance, but upon closer examination, one would find there’s a lot more to its colors and visual textures.”

“What I enjoy the most about Spectacles is being hands-free. I created a few videos to become accustomed to using the swipe pads on the side of the frames. This helped me build familiarity and confidence in recording and documenting my journey as I wear them.”

“The concept behind my design was to challenge the traditional notion that art is limited to museums and galleries. You will learn more about the inspiration and ideas behind my lens in the final video footage.”
