The materials applied to both augmented reality and light installation, are paintings that I created during the last year of my bachelor’s degree. The exploration of materiality through the textural landscapes of Niue Island (Coral Atoll). It’s keeping the cultural aspects and aesthetics in my work, by materializing the land through materiality creating tactility in its forms and structures, with each new medium I explore I will always pay tribute to my past, present, and futuristic practice.
VANCOUVER WINTER ARTS FESTIVAL
This year Onesian and I have been very fortunate to be part of Vancouver’s mural festival, an open-air exhibition showcasing the duality of:
AUGMENTED REALITY + LIGHT INSTALLATIONS February 11th – 27th
‘ Onesian and I have been working collaboratively to bring to life both the augmented and the real-world experience, using the physical presence of sculpture and digital spaces in response to the theme ‘The Metaself’. The work is an exploration of the ‘self’ and how we perceive ourselves in the presence of both worlds combined, and how we navigate through these spaces. Coralscape Gardens is a hybrid play of coral landscapes being reimagined in and amongst the cityscapes, it creates a dialogue for users to be able to immerse themselves into the experience.’

VMF WINTER ARTS BLOG
“We are both extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to be part of VMF Winter Arts, being able to exhibit alongside very talented and awesome creatives that are shaping the XR movement and building the AR community.
It’s been amazing working collaboratively with the team at VMF who have been absolutely supportive of the ideas and creations leading up to the final design.
Although, due to the restrictions of travel, we are unable to be there physically, we look forward to learning how people are experiencing and interacting with our work.”
